When in Doubt, let curiosity do the work

Curiosity can lead to questions, research, and discovery, helping to dispel doubts and providing a better understanding of a topic or situation. It can also open up new opportunities for learning and growth. So, when in doubt, embrace your curiosity, and let it guide you towards finding answers and solutions.

Curiosity is a fundamental aspect of human nature, and it is often expressed by children in their endless questioning and exploration of their surroundings. Having a curious child can be really difficult to handle and I realized this when my little 3 year old started school and then came her countless "why" "where" and "how"s. Children are naturally curious, and it's not uncommon for them to ask countless questions.

As a parent , it is important to encourage and support your curious child's natural inclination to learn. This can include providing them with opportunities for hands-on exploration and discovery, answering their questions with enthusiasm and patience, and exposing them to a variety of different experiences and learning opportunities.

I realized that it is also important to help your child develop a sense of curiosity about the world around them, rather than simply focusing on specific subjects or topics. This can help them become more well-rounded learners and thinkers, and can also foster a lifelong love of learning and exploration and the same is applicable at workplace as well. By embracing the curiosity, you can foster a love of learning that will last a lifetime. After all, when people are interested in learning and asking questions, they may figure out better ways of doing things, come up with new products, or find solutions to problems.

Here are ways, we can foster curiosity in our workplace

  • Create an environment that invites inquiry: Guide employees in asking questions about their own work, the company, and its processes
  • Create learning-based goals
  • Challenging learning-based goals encourage curiosity
  • Learning-based goals get better results than performance goals
  • Model questioning and mindful response
  • Provide responses to ideas and questions that open up conversation
  • A final tip
  • See your team’s new questioning habits as positive

KNOWING THE ANSWERS WILL HELP YOU IN SCHOOL. KNOWING HOW TO QUESTION WILL HELP YOU IN LIFE.
