Here are some recent snippets from my weekly review. Each week, I look back and record what I’ve been thinking, reading, and experiencing in the classroom and in life. Think, Learn, Share, Repeat.

• Superhero teaching isn’t sustainable.
• Classroom management isn’t just about rules. Focus on building a positive classroom culture that naturally encourages good behavior and learning.
• When in doubt, put one foot in front of the other.
• Do you have a passion? If not, it’s time to get one (or two). Following your passions is an effective tool for personal growth and creativity. Sharing your passions with students and co-workers has the added bonus of building relationships.
• Pair new teachers with mentors based on personality fit, not just experience. The right match can evolve into a valuable, informal partnership.
• Fewer words, more action.
• Lead with relationships; follow with constructive feedback.
