WHEN DOES LESS = MORE
In all the systems I have designed over 36 plus years, I have always held to a simple axiom. To paraphrase Einstein, make it as simple as possible, but no simpler. Elegant design is easy to understand, easy to implement, easy to operate, easy to sustain, and easy on resources.
The argument that my ### does more than your ### is only valid if you need the more and the more does not increase complexity or cost.
I love KEMP because it strives to keep it as simple as possible, but no simpler. Known throughout the industry as the easiest to deploy application delivery controller took KEMP a lot of engineering resources to accomplish. Making a product easy is not an easy process.
KEMP fights against feature bloat, which is the kiss of death to ease of operations.
More complex systems are not necessarily more capable systems. If you cannot figure out how to use something, it is obvious that something is too complex, and your investment is wasted.
