5 年Another inspiring & great article Mayet! I hear many recruiters tell candidates from overseas that it's their lack of local experience that's a problem. My advice to anyone looking for a professional role in Oz is to get your foot in the door asap even if it's not your ideal job. The sooner you can start gaining some local workplace experience, the quicker you will have a local referee & be less of an unknown quantity.

5 年Thank you for inviting me to connect Mayet. Great piece - your employment journey is one that many would resonate with and sharing it and the lessons you've learnt along the way will encourage many. You are a great example of where there is a will, there is a way!

5 年Very inspirational article! Thanks for sharing. Although I am in a different field, I had similar experience with job hunting... and what about “selection criteria” or “cover letter”... that was one thing completely new for me!

5 年Hola Mayet!
