You'd think that common sense should apply to all things Age Care, but it doesn't.
Thanks to the intervention of a group of politicians a few years ago it's turned into an expensive bun fight!
There's no longer anything remotely simple about an entry to aged care anymore. If your Loved Ones have assets, an entry to age care is now a time when many families find themselves faced with tough financial decisions...all the while trying to find the best possible level of care for their Loved Ones.
Today I found myself working with a family on a tight 'asset budget' and there's a need for both parents to move to care: which is where things get interesting in regard to affordability of care.
A number of options were canvassed, phone calls made and outrageous requests made by me...all with a view to securing places for the Loved Ones to go to care in the same facility.
Watching the impact on the family members who need to make decisions is heart breaking...and helping them get through the process is what makes me keep doing what I do.
