When It Comes to Starting a Well-Being Business, One Size Fits None...

If you're a coach or consultant (or any entrepreneur), you've probably already been bombarded with ads for various strategies to grow your business. When I first started The Berkeley Well-Being Institute, I tried "all the things" that every marketing entrepreneur was telling me to do. At that time, I was also working with small businesses in the wellness industry.
What did I learn? One size fits none.
Your Business Is Unique
Every single business I've worked with is different. I've worked with businesses that were successful with ads, with social media, and with Google search. And I've worked with businesses that weren't successful with any of these.
Long story short: There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to creating a business. So, telling people what they "should" do to grow their business generally isn't helpful.
When working one-on-one, I try to guide people to figure out what works best for them—what feels right? What marketing strategy do you enjoy enough to stick to it? What has worked for other businesses similar to yours? It's definitely more of an art than a science.

But... one thing is always true.
All Businesses Need Content
Although every business will have a different marketing and business strategy, all businesses need content. Whether we use this content for blogs, ads, social media, ebooks, products, videos, workshops, or for whatever... All businesses need content. We need content because we need to show people who we are, what we stand for, and how we can help them.
So, my business strategy advice is this: Deliver excellent content (in whatever way works for you), build trust, and your business will grow automatically.
