As long as you stand on your own feet
Your body from head to toe is just filled
Not with the air, or the blood circulating
But, your bubble of Ego, called the “I,”.
So vain are you, that unrestricted you boast
Standing on the rooftop you shout loudest
About your wealth, the bungalows, the cars
All your achievements and many rewards
But, one day your body collapses with the virus
Not you, but some faceless hands rush your stretcher
Unknown Doctors and nurses struggle to keep you alive
Now, only the murmur of the machines, is YOU
As you stare listlessly at the hospital ceiling
The kind loving hands care for you restlessly
The faces which you cannot even recall today
They struggled selflessly to make you stand again
Now back from the hospital and limping around
You realize the big truth that there is nothing like “I”
You stand only because of the hundred invisible hands
Were always there, supporting, helping you to stand
Your life is never controlled by your own will
The air, sunlight and love are all given free to you
Wake up now, and come out of your ego shell
Be humble, thankful to the gifts of the unknown.
