What is your body telling you about the space and company you're in?
Yes, you read that right.
Your body tells you. It talks to you. It guides you towards the right path.
.. IF you LISTEN!

I've experienced:
?? Feeling numb in the knees
?? Strained in the neck
?? Tight in the chest
?? A heavy head
..around some people in my life and career.
At the time I didn't know what or why was it happening to me.
Medical tests all showed A-Okay.
Weeks or months, even years later, I realized it wasn't a health condition but my body alarming me about something or someone I wasn't acknowledging something about.
I was forcing to make myself feel differently from what I was feeling within ... a discomfort, a red flag, an anxious energy .. specifically around those who made me feel less than, unworthy and nothing more than a doormat they could walk on - as and when, and however they wanted to.
I was working overtime to ignore the messages of my body.
Not a great decision.

After several years, I've started to realize my body has begun smiling again.
I ain't joking.
My body has been thanking me in more ways than one.
I'm beginning to see people around me are more cheerful .. even when..
...the world is witnessing horrific things...
somehow my body is at peace.

I'm making better choices in food, people, career, life, dating, fitness, learning, leading, listening, caring, deciding, denying, accepting...
Did I say better choices in people? I did too!
Well that's one of the best side effects of listening to my body.
I am choosing my people on my terms, with clear boundaries, and a very firm set of expectations - for myself and mutually.

I still have a long way to go.
I'm still making mistakes, many of them.
I am human, I will never be without flaws and errors.
But I better understand them now.
I recognize what to look out for.
How to be self-aware, how to stop on time.
I'm still not at my best, but I am infinitely willing to keep trying to be better.

I am paying better attention to what my body is telling me.

Believe it or not, your body is an excellent guide, coach, mentor, therapist, and ally in your journey .. in any aspect you can think.
It still has the senses alive that our ancestors used for protection, alertness, and survival.
In our modern hyper-stimulated and over-distracted world ...
...it gets harder to use these senses of our body unless we work intentionally and deeply to notice, acknowledge, and appreciate the conversation our body is trying to have with us.

I encourage you to find this connection of your body, heart, and head .. again.
It's the best resource, gadget, accessory, circuit, system, armor you'll ever gift yourself.
Disconnect from the noise to reconnect with your body's messaging mechanism.
You'll be amazed what you learn.
I am. I am so grateful to have found this connection.
And connections it is leading me to.

Just wow, I am in awe.

3 个月Such profound learning! I’m learning to trust my body signals more, too. I’ll admit though that I find it much easier to heed them now that I’m out of the bureaucracy and working and engaging on my own terms most of the time.

3 个月This is very timely for me. This weekend I realized I had to pause everything and be with my loved ones as well as take some time out just for me. I also noticed myself feeling uneasy in someone's company and not sure how but I got up and walked away from him. Somehow my husband noticed my uneasiness and instantly came to hug me. It shifted my energy into sense of relief and feeling protected - by his support and my own decision to walk away from the person who was making me uncomfortable even if just by his words about the topic he was discussing .. or shall I say forcing on all of us to discuss even though we were not interested. I felt my body clench. So this article makes a lot of sense right this moment.

3 个月I always tell people to notice how they feel after spending time with different people, how do they feel in their feelings and how do they feel in their body's? This is important information about that connection or situation and the health of it for you, either where you are at that moment or altogether. Great article Szebastian Onne G. S. ! So true... and so important.
