When will the Black community get a building for programs and service in the city where we live?
MS. Kathy S.Robinson, Turner
I enjoy working with children of all ages, individuals, and families to help them acquire skills they need, to improve their life struggles and to help them move forward to reach their goals.
Most of our Churches don't create programs to up life the Black community! Our children, teens and young adults have very little to look forward too. Our seniors are also forgotten in their homes, nursing homes and rooms. We must do more every group has a building for activities but the Black community in Richmond! There wouldn't be so much violence if we addressed this problem! Gym classes, art, music, sewing, dance, field trips and so much more. Even if we has a place for people to come to talk and share a meal once or twice a week. Our churches are open twice a week but we need more for our community! When I grew up the teen centers had activities daily. The parks has program directors that allowed you to check out games and other equipment fr you to use while they were open. We had regular Bowling dates, skating events, movies, talent shows and so much more! None of this is available for our children. They are bored so they get in trouble. Young people need activities to use up their energy and challenge their minds! Our center are usually empty and lack events for our children!
