When the best things (and jobs) in life entail sacrifice

Sacrifice… seems and feels like a heavy word to most of us.
But as we think through and ponder upon life more deeply,
One thing that we’ll surely realise is…
Sacrifices are part of life.
Try to think of it.
Will there ever be a day when we won’t even make a sacrifice (may it be big or small)?
I think the only time that we don’t need to is when our time here on earth is done.
Sacrifices are and should be made, after all, because this world isn’t perfect—it just cannot simply give us what we need, and moreso, the things that we want.
As a husband and a father of two wonderful girls,
sacrifices aren’t a new thing to me.
And even if I consider fatherhood my favorite and the best job for me, this doesn’t erase the fact that there will be days and seasons that will really entail and need a lot of sacrifices—in and from whatever life aspect. (In fact, as we consider something or a “job” as something that’s dear to us, it even entails us more sacrifice, isn’t it?)
But the good and great thing is,
in all the sacrifices made and are yet to make,
my hope and faith is that there will always be that priceless joy and light at the end of the tunnel.
I believe that this universe revolves around the sun and does not forget to be gracious to those who work tirelessly—sacrificing sweat and blood;
this universe doesn’t overlook the things you have done and sacrificed in private—all for your loved ones, and for others’ greater good.
I hope that the next time this life demands sacrifice from us,
I hope that we don’t fear what would happen next, or what we might lose.
All because the kind of JOY that will come forth is something that is PRICELESS,
And something that is worth the wait—it’s like a treasure found after centuries of expeditions,
And it’s like that honey sought—after the painful sting of the bees.
May sacrifices be a normal part of us,
That when faced with challenges,
We will be braver enough to fight back and conquer—
Because we know that all this will be worth it, and all this shall also pass, that you will be REWARDED in due time—
And the generations after you will benefit from that priceless JOY you beget.
And as they say,
“May our sacrifices today bring our children a better tomorrow.”
So, hang in there, my friend. Your good works are always seen (even if they seemingly aren’t).
But please make sure to still and always leave something for yourself. ??
Have a joyous life ahead!!! Your best days are always, always, ahead of you.
