When an artist makes the first mark on the canvas it allows all the creativity and genius from within to rise and express itself.? That first mark is the most important even though it is likely that no one will ever see it and it will be covered by many subsequent layers of paint.
In any business training is that first mark.?
Training creates that first mark, it will bring the genius that resides within your team to the surface. The right words can change a team’s dynamic, revolutionise a mindset? and increase standards and productivity. This will increase profits, but we don’t need to think about that right now. We just need to think about how great it would be for the team.?
I know we are living in very unpredictable times and the temptation is to batten down the hatches and say training can wait until we have more money in the bank.?
But will burying our skills and passions ever bring greater rewards? Only development will take us to the next level. We can't just sit around and wait for things to improve. Experience does not work that way.?
Experience is not gained over time, it is gained by being exposed to new things. Yes the longer we do something the more things we will be exposed to and the better we will get at dealing with them. But why should we wait? When you can overtake the opposition. You can lead the way. You can be the one who becomes the game maker.?
Progress is about acknowledging our moments of choice. Do we choose to get stuck in our ways, or do we choose to grow and become more than we ever imagined we could be?

This has helped me succeed in my career and every day I am learning something new. I don't think you ever stop learning as a Butler and I encourage those to keep up to date on training and learning as much as you can no matter how senior you are in the Butler world. It is imperative to have an understanding of these matters not only to broaden our knowledge but in order that they can work in unison to provide the greatest degree of continuity.As you know etiquette training used to be delivered on many BG courses, and on many Govt courses it is still delivered today .Social and cultural etiquette will play a significant part in the life of any top tier level PPO. Unfortunately I was not always the cultured well behaved Individual you know now ha. In my early days ,and with a female client of note, my niaevity was obvious when I hastily ordered beef tartare in an exceptional venue in Paris. I didnt recognise or understand anything on the menu and thought mm beef thats a safe bet.The wry smile of the waiter was enough to tell me Id dropped a bollock. Lesson learned, I don't know what was more difficult, smiling as I tried to hide my displeasure, or stuffing as many bread rolls down my throat as I could to assist me. For all of us, a sound knowledge on these matters will play a part in both our own development and the employment opportunities available. In essence grab all the knowledge u can and exploit it .
