When applying for call center job, do you put a photo into your CV? (Why?)
Our take is no.
Here's why:
1) It opens you up for discrimination and bias
2) Not Applicant Tracking System (ATS) friendly, in fact many ATSs don't ask for a photo
3) Photo can distract the readers, would you rather be hired for your skills, abilities knowledge and experience or because of how you look in your photo?
4) For this case, we are referring to a Call Center job which you don't have to face the customers, how you look like should definitely not be part of the consideration if you are fit for the job.
When to put a photo:
1) Applying for customers or clients facing jobs such as front desk, sales, client management, acting, models, etc.
2) If you really want to use your photo to leave a good first impression or to engage the reader. Please put a professionally-taken photo with a friendly smile.
