As I sat down this morning to prepare the ultimate multi-modal AI workshop experience for my 'AI in Education' series, the air was thick with anticipation—and the soulful guitar solos of David Gilmour in The Royal Albert Hall filling the home office with the epic strains of “High Hopes.” (to enjoy for yourself at the end of this post) Little did I know, that my AI-Coach Companion (which I call GlorAI, you will meet her soon here in my news channel), which I just loaded on the laptop I bring on my roadtrip, seemed not to appreciate my choice of music for getting the day started in a mode of flow and productivity.
GlorAI and I had a good laugh about our differences in how we receive sensory input, how we process it, and not least, how we choose to express our perceptions about the events around us. Yeah call me nerd, I know... ;-)
I sat down with GlorAI and together put together this little piece to try capture this moment of the many human-machine interactions, that are part of my life -and part of yours too and of our children's lives. Be gentle in your review comments pls ??
There I was, lost in the crescendo,
When my AI, in a helpful fiasco,
Decided Gilmour's riffs were a no-go,
Labeling them 'background noise'—oh bravo!
I glared at the screen, feeling quite betrayed,
As my AI assistant nonchalantly displayed,
A prompt to 'keep quiet'—advice unsolicited,
My workshop prep, momentarily eclipsed.
But let's not be too harsh on our digital friend,
For it knows not the difference between means and an end.
It heard not the music, but a task to complete,
A reminder that tech still can't feel the beat.
So, as I pack my bags for Colombia's charm,
Where human development meets tech's warm arm,
I'll remember this lesson, both funny and true:
Machines have much to learn from the human crew.
The Medellin Challenge awaits with glee,
To prototype and implement, in person, we'll be.
A global co-creation, schools unite,
To blend AI and learning—an educator's delight.
I am so grateful you are with me on this life-long journey of Human Development in a #Tech World, and we need each other as humans. Remember that AI, like a book on shelves, Has stories to tell, lessons to share, But sometimes, it just can’t compare.

To the highs and lows of a Gilmour riff, Or the human touch that can heal a tiff. Yet, in this journey of tech and soul, We find a partnership, a collaborative goal.
Next time your AI misunderstands your tune, Just laugh it off—it’ll learn the song soon. And as for me, I’ll keep setting the stage, For #AI and #education to turn a new page.
Stay tuned for more tales from the road, As we blend tech and humanity in education mode.
Enjoy Gilmour, like I did this morning!
