When Adults Need to Learn Again
My youngest daughter had a speech issue.
Ever since she was little, she struggled with R sounds. Not all of them, but certain R blends give her a hard time and she can’t quite say the words right.
Words like World, Work, Farm…
Last year we were finally able to get a proper speech therapist to help us out.
Once a week we’d meet with the therapist and work on R blends to help her learn the correct positioning of her tongue.?
We would also spend about 5 minutes each night to go through the list of words for the week and practice getting her tongue in position.
And if I said it was easy, I’d be lying.
Every couple of weeks she would come home with a new set of words to practice, a new R sound to learn.
This may seem trivial, but every time she got new words it was a sign she had gotten good at her previous list and was ready for the next.

Learning and practice is what got her there.
45 minutes a week with the therapist and 5 minutes a day with us. It didn’t take her long at all to work through all of the words and graduate out of therapy with no issues with her speech.
If learning and practice are such an important part of anything we do in life, whether it be speech therapy, learning to ride a bike, or learning how to run our own ads - why do we expect to instantly know how to do these things???
If you are just getting into running ads for your business, give yourself the grace and TIME to learn them correctly. There really is more to it than placing an ad and crossing our fingers.
It takes time and practice to learn.
