When accepting Agility is a Necessity, the Mindset should follow.

The dissonance between existing mindset and presented change is the culprit of emerging issues. At its core, agility is a quick step- being open and flexible to issues and developing solutions along the way.?

The question is- how do we embrace it on an organizational level? The principles are quite adaptable at personal level, but organizations require seemingly more effort and thought for their implementation.

A few pointers that can dictate this are-

  • Leadership vs. management- Accepting a change definitely requires a mix of both, but Leaders need to have a vision and be passionate about the prospective mission and the goals they want to achieve. Without drive and devotion to a common purpose, it may be difficult to go through the process of transformation. This clear demarcation should be constantly communicated to managerial prospects that may not interpret it the right way at first glance.
  • ADKAR framework- A brainchild of Jeff Hiatt, this framework is an acronym for 5 individual outcomes that must necessarily take place to introduce a successful organizational change- Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability & Reinforcement.

Transformation is about team collaboration and having all your employees “wear the jacket” even if it feels a little iffy at first. Take some time, try it on, and you may discover a lot more benefits than you initially thought.

These pointers in general answer very basic questions for realizing the presence & need of embracing evolution-

  • Awareness- Why change is necessary in this scenario?
  • Desire- How should this change be planted as a necessity in the employees with a resourceful perspective?
  • Knowledge- How to introduce critical and unknown perspectives about the transformation process?
  • Ability- What steps should be taken to adapt to this change?
  • Reinforcement- What meaningful rewards can be introduced to accept this change in a positive light?
