"Whelp, you can try again next year."
I still remember walking back to my dorm with disappointment after finding out I wasn't selected into the Sales Organization at my University; Congratulating my friends with a fake smile on my face before keeping to myself in my room for a couple hours. All I did for the next few weeks was think about things that were wrong with me as a young professional or reasons why I may not be successful in sales. Eventually like all failures, you have to shrug them off and realize that if you're not failing, you're probably not trying your hardest. A week ago I started working for a company called "Smart Circle", a company that markets different products all over the country. I'm an authorized retailer for DIRECTV and after just a week of learning/training and performing on my own, I'm on pace to be one of the top sellers for DIRECTV for the month of June in the country. I'm going to Chicago Tuesday to meet other top sellers in the country. When you just be yourself, remain focused on exceeding expectations of others, and continually innovate ways to improve yourself as an individual, nothing will stop you. Hopefully this little story is motivation for others who were once told, "You're not good enough."
