15 days to NY 2020 and still couldn’t decide what content I should post on LI. A visit to book store lamented that most have self-help section but not “ help –others “ section, which urged me to illustrate book learnings of #52 mentors ( purely my views that might resonate to bring best version of ourselves , be successful with abundance of respect and friendship ) ??
First one starts with The Trillion Dollar Coach and fitting tribute to (Late) Bill Campbell‘s passion for innovation and teamwork which still even Silicon valley ‘s greatest companies including Google , Apple , Intuit adhere to create higher performing + faster moving teams and companies .
?? Lovely Reset : To care about people you have to care about people. Loving colleagues in the workplace may be challenging, so practice until it becomes natural... integrating with a reason, depth & respect! Like Clay (Head of Virtual & AI, Google) incorporated Bill Campbell clap (BCC) into the culture of the team.. When someone announced something good, some else would erupt with 5 loud claps !!!!!
?? Envelope of Trust with relentlessly honest and candid (negative feedback with caring delivered it privately but as soon as possible) Practicing free form of listening…with not thinking ahead as to what to say next but asking questions to get the real issue. As leaders believing in people more than they believe in themselves and pushing them to be more courageous.
?? The Yardstick of Success and staying engaged ( For C-suites ) ? Applying wisdom of experience and freedom wherever you want to apply ? Not dilettanting doing portfolio of things - Whatever we get involved with, having accountability and consequence ? Surrounding with people who have vitality (Often they will be younger) ? Not wasting time worrying about future and allowing serendipity to play a role...
If Steve Jobs needed a coach, all of us probably do as well… do share your feedback and what topics you are looking to learn from powerful coaches …
