WhatsApp To Release New Short Video Messages Feature On iOS, Android All Details!
Good news to WhatsApp users, you can soon have the option to send short video messages to your contacts, if the reports are to be believed. The Meta-owned company messaging application WhatsApp is planning to introduce a new feature “video messages.”
“Currently this feature is only available for selected Beta Testers and after the testing period, it will be rolled out for public use,” claims WhatsApp.
According to this latest feature, WhatsApp users will be allowed to send short videos up to 60 seconds on iOS and Android devices. These messages will not be ephemeral, which means that they will be saved in the history of the conversation even after the recipient has viewed them. The option to send a video message will be accessible through a button located on the chat bar at the bottom of the screen, next to the buttons for attachments, camera, etc. To record a video, users will need to keep the button pressed, just like the audio recording feature, and then send it.
As per the details, the microphone button while chatting will be replaced by a camera icon. This will allow you to record a short video of up to 60 seconds in length. In case you receive a video message, you can simply tap on it to open it.

A good thing is that just like text messages, attachments, and audio messages, the new video messages feature will be also protected by end-to-end encryption. This means the video messages will remain protected against data hackers. There will be no option to forward the video message to another chat, and you can only send video messages that are captured using your phone's camera.
We’re all eager to experience this new feature in WhatsApp.
