WhatsApp to end support for these iPhones, Android phones on Feb 1

WhatsApp recently ended support for Windows phones, which means all smartphones running on Windows operating system can no longer run WhatsApp. After Windows phones, the messaging platform is now preparing to end support for some Android phones as well as iPhones.
Previously, WhatsApp had ended support for some Android phones and iPhones, now some more are getting added to the list. According to an official blog posted by the Facebook-owned messaging platform, WhatsApp will end support for iPhones running on iOS 7 and older software.
In the same blog, WhatsApp also said that the app’s support will end for some Andorid users as well. Starting February 1, 2020, the messaging platform will not run on Android phones running software version 2.3.7 or older.
So, if you’re still using iPhone with iOS 7 or Android phone with version 2.3.7, you should update your phone's software, given there is an update available for your phone. If there is not an update available, the only option you have left is to update your phone in order to run WhatsApp.
WhatsApp is ending the support for older phones is because the messaging platform will no longer actively develop updates for older versions.
