WhatsApp will enable the transfer of chats Between Android without the use of Google Drive

Now Android users can transfer chats to another device without relying on Google Drive.

Meta has been working relentlessly to improve the apps' user experience and has been particularly busy recently. The company recently introduced improvements to WhatsApp, including the ability to utilize the same WhatsApp account on four devices simultaneously, save disappearing messages for later, and so on. Additionally, the messaging app is attempting to make it easier for Android users to switch chats between devices, reducing reliance on Google.

Currently, WhatsApp allows Android users to back up their chats and media to Google Drive, which can then be recovered on a new device as needed. However, the App now wishes to lessen its reliance on Google.

According to sources, WhatsApp is working on a new feature for Android users so that they don't have to rely on Google Drive for backup or transfer of their chats. For the moment, the feature is in testing.

Conclusion

This new feature not only simplifies the chat transfer process but also ensures that users have more control over their data privacy. By allowing users to directly transfer their chats between devices, WhatsApp has eliminated the need for users to rely on third-party services, thereby enhancing the security and privacy of their conversations. Overall, this feature is a positive step towards making WhatsApp more user-friendly and secure.
