What’s your working environment saying about you?
This month's edition of The Reputation focuses on the work environment. Specifically the Physical Environment that has now become 'hybrid'. So whether working from home or in the office, there are several factors that will have an impact on employee performance. From olfactory stimulation to ergonomic beauty, discretionary effort from your workforce won’t surface via a simple water cooler, bike rack and an IT help desk.?
Sitting comfortably? Then let’s begin…..
Smells like team spirit
According to Harvard Business Review , scented environments have been shown to reduce typos made by office workers; improve the perception of product quality; increase purchase intent, average unit sales, and duration of a retail visit or stay among consumers; and boost the willingness of consumers to pay more for a product. With Return To The Office (RTO) policies and mandates dominating business news, CERIPH Director Simon Thomas explores what makes an ideal working environment.?
RTO (Return To The Office) - What does the data say?
Embracing hybrid working is the future of work. Here are three things to make RTO a success whilst maintaining employee engagement and your company's reputation:
1. Communicate your?commitment to hybrid working (and mean it)
2. Reorient your workplace from outdated rules
3. Rightsize your space with optimism.

London leading the pack
This year, the London Marathon will award equal prize money to wheelchair and able-bodied athletes - a first for a major marathon. This will mean that all winners in the elite races are awarded £43,500.
Eight-time London Marathon wheelchair racing champion David Weir said this is "a huge benchmark for disability sport" and he hopes "other races and sporting bodies can take note". Well done London Marathon for leading the way!

Will Boots staff walk?
Boots are promising updated WIFI, improved car parking and a better canteen menu in a bid to soften the blow to head office workers being told that from 1st September they must be in the office five days a week.
With 69% of employees responding to a recent People Management magazine poll that they would start searching for a new job if they were told to spend more time in the office, it will be interesting to see how the Boots workforce responds to this mandate.
