WHAT'S IN YOUR WORKFORCE TOOLKIT?
Granite Outdoor Alliance
Granite Outdoor is a membership-based advocacy non-profit organization supporting the New Hampshire outdoor industry.
On Wednesday, forty leaders from the outdoor industry, community organizations, and non-outdoor recreation businesses joined New Hampshire’s Office of Outdoor Recreation Industry Development and Granite Outdoor for our first Stonework Sessions in Manchester. Throughout the day, we heard from keynote speakers, participated in group exercises, and brainstormed ideas to integrate outdoor recreation into strategic, statewide recruitment and retention practices. We finished the day with a networking event sponsored by White Mountain Strategies, Buena Gave, LaBelle Winery and Great North Aleworks.?
Krystal Hicks, Founder of JOBTALK, summed it up perfectly during her keynote when she said, “hiring is the new marketing.” As New Hampshire grapples with a growing employment gap, employer branding and understanding the values of a diverse talent pool will be key for organizations to sustain their workforces. We know that outdoor? recreation has a role to play in this effort, as?many of us choose to live in New Hampshire because of the incredible access we have to skiing, mountain biking, hiking and paddling.?ORID is using the insights gathered from Stonework Sessions to create a workforce toolkit for employers to assess how outdoor recreation can elevate their benefits packages, company cultures, and attractiveness to new employees.?
