What’s your why?

Are you crystal clear on your why?
I’ve found one of the most powerful tools for fuelling my drive and motivation has been to consider what meaning I assign to achieving a specific goal.
Generally speaking, the higher the stakes for failure, the higher your motivation for success is going to be. For example: if I don’t pay my mortgage then I could lose my home - pretty high stakes so you're likely to do whatever you can to make that payment.
But what if the stakes aren’t so high or not particularly clear to you? Think about trying to lose some weight. That’s the goal you’ve set yourself, but only you can decide whether it’s a high or low stake outcome.
When you think of a goal you'd like to achieve, consider what meaning you're going to assign to the outcome - is this super important or a nice to have? If it’s just a nice to have then the chances of success just dropped to the floor.
Consider the following responses:
Option 1 - I want to build an investment portfolio and achieve financial freedom BECAUSE my mate told me he is wants to get into property and it sounds like fun.
Option 2 - I want to build an investment portfolio and achieve financial freedom BECAUSE this will bring abundance into my life, meaning I can fully support and protect my family, and provide an education for my kids that gives them a great start in life, so they can achieve their own goals.
Which of the 2 options above would fire you up more?
Turn your goal from a should into a MUST and its likelihood of success will skyrocket.
Knowing your why is key.

On the Blog: Is a fixed mindset holding you back?
A fixed mindset is the belief that our abilities, intelligence, and talents are fixed traits that we’re born with and can’t change much. By contrast, a growth mindset is the belief that if you’re dedicated and work hard, then your abilities and intelligence can be developed. Whichever one you have, it will influence how you behave in certain situations, and will dictate your reaction in others.
So, if it’s something you’ve not thought about before, or you’re wondering if your own mindset needs a bit of work, then have a read of this week’s blog!
