Are you in your own way?
Remember last year’s Oscars ceremony? When an envelope mix-up led to ‘La La Land’ not ‘Moonlight’ being announced as best picture? I didn’t realize until this weekend that the biggest casualty of that mix-up was the director of the film, Barry Jenkins, not being able to give an acceptance speech.
So when I saw a story pop up on CNN about ‘the acceptance speech he never got to give’ I clicked on it. And I’m so glad I did. It was an elegant and well-timed reminder that we should never deny ourselves our dream.
Simple, right? To hear, yes. To live, no. There is so much noise during the day that it is easy to lose sight of that. So as the week starts, stop to think about that – what are you denying yourself? There is a lot of power in realizing that the only one stopping you from achieving your dream…is you.

6 年Great read. I think it's also worth keeping in mind immediate satisfaction versus long term. I could make a decision that feels good right now, but may make my dream harder to reach. Or sacrifice a little now for greater reward later.
