I call myself the President of World Procrastination Association.I can delay things for hours,for days, for months, for years and also for decades.
Am I a chronic procrastinator?
Yes I am!
Is it that I am aware of?
Yes I am!
Did it harm me?
Indeed.
So what did I do?
I have done everything which my colleagues,my colleagues,my Gurus and my family said.No change at all!
How did I survive till now?
Yes you guessed it right. I survived!
I could have thrived, made tons of money, would have been much more successful and be very happy.
What is Procrastination?
For a layman it’s something what you do against your goals in life. Anybody's goal is to live a successful life and peaceful life.
For that I need to work hard. Guys when you are working in the corporate and you have your boss you are lucky. There is someone to take care of your future. When you are self-employed you are like a vagabond. Your monkey mind is not only continuously chattering but also hopping from one tree to another.This is what I was going through.
Coming back to what did I do when I was not working for my goals (which happen 90% of the time), I lay on the couch and watch television news after news after news after news.
A week ago the adaptor of the set top box of my television conked off.
That’s a great loss to me. I wanted to be with all the personalities of the world daily, only difference was we were not on the same side of the television.I wanted to get a new adaptor for the set top box asap.
But I being a procrastinator I wanted to buy it tomorrow.
It is a week now I am without my favourite personalities and juicy news.
Since last seven days there is a vacuum in my life. I waited, tried to get up from my couch to go a buy the adaptor, I could not!
Yes once again proven I am a procrastinator.With nothing to do I find my monkey mind is quite calm.Suddenly lot of clarity is coming in my life.I started reading, creating positive things in my life.
What was that which somewhat changed me?
A non-working television!
Yes that bloody idiot box was the cure which made me do things against my goals.
Every morning the television acted as a Trigger in my life which sabotaged me for so many years.
I could identify my trigger to change my behavior of procrastination. Anything doable today will be done now.
I am enjoying my new found freedom sorry control.
There are many triggers which pushed us, pulls us towards those things which does not add value to your lives.
