What’s your tone?

What’s your tone?

Hi,

Picture this.

Your team communicates effortlessly…

Understands one another with absolute clarity…

And delivers powerful and consistent messaging to your customers.

Sounds dreamy, right?

That happens when you nail your communication etiquette!

Now, there are many aspects to this.

But for today, I’ll talk about one of the most important:

Using the right tone.

Why does it matter?

Think about it this way.

If you’re delivering a presentation to your team members…

Being casual—or even humorous—will let you build rapport that’ll make them enjoy work more.

If you’re in a meeting with other C-Suite executives...

Playful banter can make you appear unprofessional, so they won’t take you seriously.

If you’re upselling to your clients…

Sounding warm and empathetic will help them see your offer as irresistible.

Ultimately, the right tone is instrumental in getting the outcomes you want when communicating with others.

This now begs the question:

How will you know which tone to use?

As the examples above show, timing and context are the key considerations.

But that’s not all.

Your tone should also align with your brand.

Whether your brand is quirky and upbeat or composed and poised…

The tone you use in your messaging must reflect it.

I’ll admit…

Getting the hang of it is easier said than done.

Well, guess what?

There’s a great place to practice your tone—and your communication etiquette!

In our Rehearsal Room, we’ll help you identify what works for you and what doesn’t…

Whether you’re doing online or offline presentations—or even both.

It’s because you’ll get feedback on your presentation skills.
