What’s on your thankful list?

When I was a kid, my Mom made us write a Thankful List of ten things we’re thankful for, that we would each share at the Thanksgiving dinner table.? It’s a tradition I stopped for a while, but loved so much.? Time to pick it back up.

Here’s my Thankful List this year.??

What’s on your thankful list???

I am thankful for -?

  • My relationship with my husband, Dan.? With the changes we made this year to our location, jobs, and obligations, we’re spending more time together doing things we both love, and it’s awesome.? We’re happier as individuals and we’re happier together.??
  • My children.? Both of my children are struggling right now, and I couldn’t be more proud of how they are handling life’s challenges and disappointments.? They are allowing themselves to feel what they feel while also focusing on growth and hope.? They are demonstrating tremendous emotional maturity.? It hurts my Mom heart to see them struggle.? It warms my Mom heart to see them struggle well.??
  • Living in Arizona.? Everywhere you turn, there is natural beauty.? I love the heat, I love the outdoor adventures, I love the people, I love our home.??
  • Living near my parents.? It has been so cool to get to see them way more often, and for us to be involved in each others’ lives.??
  • The members of the Strength & Shield Coaching community, the women who I get to provide coaching for alignment and whole-life health, and the women for whom I get to provide restorative, aligning retreat experiences.? I am indescribably grateful that I get to do this.? My heart overflows.??
  • Tusk CrossFit.? OMG I LOVE THIS PLACE.? I love the humans who make up the Tusk community.? I love the coaches.? I love the coaching.? I love that I just broke 200# on my front squat for a 205# 1RM PR two weeks ago, and I love that more gainz are inevitable.? I love that I felt like I belonged at Tusk from day one, and I’m excited to be part of this community for like 100 more years.
  • The fantastic job that made it possible for us to move to Arizona.? I get to work with and for an amazing leader, with awesome humans, with a predictable and reasonable work schedule, within a positive culture, doing work I enjoy: strategy & planning.? Professional happiness for the win.??
  • The faith growth that was the result of a nervous-breakdown-inducing move this past summer.? I’ve relocated 25 times in my 44 years on earth, and this was one of the hardest moves I’ve experienced.? I was at the limit of the stress that I have the capacity to handle, and the Holy Spirit met me there with some beautiful reminders about the true source of my strength and security.??
  • Old friends.? New friends.? Real, loyal, unconditionally loving friends.? I’m thankful for the time that I now have to actually have friends.? Too busy is the enemy of quality time.? Too busy is the enemy of relationships.? I am so grateful to no longer be too busy.??
  • Clarity around my own personal alignment, and a clear path to success as I define it.? While life will never be without its wounds and challenges, personal alignment feels so good.??

There’s a whole lot more that I have to be thankful for - what a blessed life I get to live.? I hope that you and yours have a totally fantastic and joy-filled Thanksgiving!??
