What’s on your summer reading list?

Reading is one of my favorite ways to unplug and recharge, and I find summer is a perfect time to dive into some page-turners.

I usually have a few books going at once to mix it up while I travel. Here’s what I currently have on my summer reading list:

  • Red Notice: A True Story of High Finance, Murder, and One Man’s Fight for Justice by Bill Browder
  •  Grant by Ron Chernow
  • 21 Lessons for the 21st Century by Yuval Noah Harari
  • Things that Matter: Three Decades of Passions, Pastimes, and Politics by Charles Krauthammer
  • Churchill: Walking with Destiny by Andrew Roberts

It’s a diverse list – and that’s by design.

Whether it’s the life of a historically significant person, a good business read, or a book that reads like a novel but is actually non-fiction, different genres and subjects give me the opportunity to travel different roads. I know a book has had a lasting impact on me when I can’t stop thinking about the big questions an author has raised, long after I’ve read the last word on the last page.

The “aha” moments I come across in a good read are priceless. And sometimes, those ahas can help bring fresh perspective to an issue I’m dealing with at work or in my life.

Any summer reads you’d highly recommend? I could always use one more.

Just finished "I am Malala" by one of my she-roes, Malala Yousafzai (the girl shot by the Taliban). Next up are Virginia Woolf's "To the Lighthouse" then Sun Tzu's "Art of War".

Thank you for sharing these options. A few notes: 1.?? I was intrigued that you call this a "diverse" list, as all books listed are all written by men.? 2.? Interesting that in your comments, many women offer suggestions of books that are written by women. Have you read any of those mentioned? 3.? Do you have some suggestions of books that are written by women? Finally, ty for writing articles that spark conversation.

Recently I read a book “Crucial Conversations’ tools for talking when stakes are high - by Stephen R. Covey. It’s good one.
