I love what I do. It's that simple. But what I love most is the stories I can tell, that make me keep doing what I do.
If I haven't bored you yet, can I share two of my stories with you?
1. I was (and still am) working with a client that services housing estates with garden maintenance contracts. I had the opportunity to provide a temporary to permanent opportunity. After screening many resumes I came across "Rob".
Now Rob worked in hospitality, had enough of late nights and wanted a career change. He loved outdoors and loved working in his garden at home, but no commercial experience and his resume showed no signs of this either, but his story attracted me. I interviewed Rob, explained that it is an entry level role (level 1), the pay isn't very attractive, but the training is comprehensive.
I put him forward and he started with the client. Within a month he went permanent, and to this day, 7 years later his is now a team leader and orders casual staffing from me. Rob still thanks me for the opportunity.
I love what I do.
Bored yet?
2. I got the opportunity to supply (new client) a large manufacturer. One of my first applicants was "Chris", now Chris was originally a Nuclear maintenance technician back in Poland, came to Australia then worked for a well know manufacturer in the automotive industry. Unfortunately Chris was made redundant after 11 years as a machine operator, then worked for a friend's business polishing floor boards. Chris was having difficulty finding work. Chris's story attracted me.
I put Chris forward he was offered the job immediately. Chris was very appreciative to be given this opportunity and promised me he wouldn't let me down. To this day, 5 years on he is now a team leader, and I still see him on site and chat.
I love what I do.
I have more stories.......but maybe at a later time.

9 年It's fantastic that you can see the potential within people! I am a chef by trade, however was once given the opportunity to work within admistration with no previous experience. Five years on I am now working as an IT Training and Support Analyst and I love it! Some people have the ability to adapt to new roles as long as they have to drive to succeed at what they put their mind too and someone like yourself to give them the chance. Thank you!
