What's Your Story?

Happier YOU with Amy?Letter:?YOUR UNIQUE STORY.

Happy Friday! So today's the last day of school, and "It's crazy. The kids screamed in the hallway," shared by my son over lunch today, may depict the spirit of it. No school. No homework. Vacation. Time off. Freedom. Let's look forward to a summer well spent with lots of happy memories hardwired.

In this week Happier YOU Letter, I want to talk about Your Unique Story. Just two days ago, when I was cooking dinner in the kitchen, my daughter, having some ice cream nearby, said, "Mom, do you know you are famous? Brother Minh and I Googled 'Amy Nguyen Career?Happiness Coach' one day and we saw your picture!" Her voice was filled with so much excitement, prompting me to test it out myself that night.

The experience of seeing my name and the digital places where I appear makes me think about you. To me, it's not about being famous, but it's about being well-known, well known for the consistent theme you talk about, advocate for, pour your mind and heart in, well known for the cause you truly care about and know you could dedicate your time and energy for without feeling tired, well known for the very specific group of people on earth you help and call it your life mission.

Being well-known means?you follow a calling, a passion, deeply rooted in your own unique story, and really make impact there that makes a ripple effect, inspiring the other?people?in your tribe to?seek out to you and get your help. You live a meaningful life and leave your unique mark. You feel it deep in your bone.

Being famous, on the other hand, could mean many things. It could mean being flashy, having unwanted attention from those who are not "your" people, and being distracted in this noisy world.

Throughout my practice coaching highly motivated, balance-seeking and purpose-driven?women, especially mothers,?from many nationalities and backgrounds, I developed many brain-based?happiness tools and a signature among them is Your Unique Story. Each of us was born with a life purpose, a unique set of talents, core passion and values. Without you noticing them, these all are from the same source: a story that shines the light on who you are and how you can contribute to this world, your way. You own it but often, you don't know it.

From that "root", you don't find yourself second-guessing, being distracted, spreading your limited time and energy too thin in all directions, or sweating over small things. You focus. You make impact. With elegance. With fulfillment. With calmness. With inner peace. You show up in the world, offline or online, with consistent messages that tell your unique story and how you approach solving the very specific?problem you deeply care about, your way.

Then, you feel?satisfied and contended. Then you have the time, mental space, and energy?for your loved ones, for yourself, for your creativity. And if you are a mom like me, this summer, you will truly enjoy the time with the children, without worries, without regrets, without anxiety, knowing you have come this far, done your unique part through the year, and knowing what future is waiting for you by the end of the summer and for the years to come.

For a happier YOU:

Picture a journalist or anyone who is interested in knowing the true you?asking you, 'Amy, what's your story?" How would you tell it in a paragraph??

Some questions that help are:

  • What is the one life experience that created in you?a very strong and deep emotion, so strong and deep that it has been guiding you, quietly, in the many decisions you make? Often, that could be a big life challenge or a huge source of?inspiration.
  • In that story, what did you do as a hero to overcome the challenge?
  • How did you transform, internally and externally, at the end??
  • How do you want to bring that experience forward to help others??
  • How do you help them, in your unique way?

You can also reference my own story on?Empirics Asia?or?Thrive Global?or?All American Speakers?as an example. It's told at different lengths in different channels but the thread?about why I do what?I do and how I do it is the same.?

Now is your turn. What's your story?

Sending some Friday vibes from a Barnes & Noble bookstore,

Onwards to Happiness Infinity,

Amy Nguyen
