What's your "reason" for not BEing yourself?

"I've always wanted to Be ____ to do ____, BUT..."

Raise your hand if you've heard someone saying this.

Raise both hands if you've said this recently.

We use our analytical brain to reason why it's not the right time, why we need to do something or be something first before we could finally be ourselves.

My coach mentioned yesterday, "We could either be at the cause or at the effect."

Where do you choose to be? At the cause of what's happening, or at the effect of the incident?

___________

How to be at the cause of what's happening?

  • Be brutally honest with yourself. Work on your self-awareness. Invest in your growth. Work with a coach.
  • Be radically responsible for yourself. Be so responsible that you'd go and apologize to someone who hurt you, for hurting you.
  • Create causes. Contribute to the goodness of this world. Make someone smile, offer someone food, and donate to a small NGO.

What's your idea of BEing responsible?
