What's your purpose?
Hacker Valley Media
Cybersecurity storytelling through podcasts, videos, and more.
What’s your purpose?
That’s a big question to wrestle with and at Hacker Valley Media, we don’t shy away from it.
A couple of weeks ago, Chris Cochran , Ron Eddings , Jennifer Cochran , and Monika Eddings got together in Dallas to refine our purpose as a business. They were inspired by reading Simon Sinek’s Find Your Why.
Thanks to Chris’s training and experience as a coach, he led an exercise to understand everyone’s why - why we work at HVM, why we want to continue, and what we hope to see in the future.
Taking the time to share these insights brought the team closer and served as a launching pad for defining our purpose. It was an exercise in communication as we worked to find the best words to express our mission, vision, and path. After many iterations, we found it!
At Hacker Valley Media, our purpose is to pioneer creativity in cybersecurity so that people feel courageous and empowered to pursue their personal legends.
Our flagship podcast, Hacker Valley Studio was created to "inspire peak performance in cyber practitioners" by exploring the intersection of humanity and technology. Three years later we continue to honor that vision and expand on it. We believe everyone has a personal legend worth pursuing and we want to explore that journey through creative mediums.
With a new North star, there will come changes and we’re excited for the year ahead.
What's your personal and/or professional purpose? Drop it in the comments, we'd love to know and support you!
