Happy May Day! This is the day when as kids we would make May Baskets for our neighbors and walk around the neighborhood knocking on doors and presenting homemade treats, gifts and flowers. It was also a big sign of spring and good times ahead.
Here in GA, our main stay at home order expired last night at midnight. Today feels like a new beginning! It will take time, and many people are still suffering from lack of income, sickness, and heartache from missed special events like proms and graduations.
But….today, I chose to be grateful and see this day as a new beginning and truly full of possibilities. The sun is shining, it’s Friday, and things are opening back up. I also chose to believe that people are smart and will exercise good judgement when it comes to entering our new normal.
I’m also grateful for the time I invested in my business, my new clients and business partners, and my personal development into meditation. I’m looking forward to our next Reset on May 11th and how it will help people move forward and make progress on their wellness goals.
I’ve also signed up for a 21 Day Meditation Challenge. Have you heard the expression, “Slow Down to Speed up”? Meditation practice will connect you to your greatest source of inspiration, which will motivate you to get creative, be proactive, and say yes to your big visions. When meditation becomes your habit, your immediate response to obstacles changes. You’ll no longer focus on problems — you’ll become open to creative solutions. You’ll see the spiritual guidance in everything around you. And with it release past hurts, manage insecurity, be open to new ideas, and truly move forward.
I asked yesterday what people were most looking forward to in our new normal. Hugs, handshakes, seeing friends, community, being in the classroom, going out, workouts in favorite gyms, and resuming personal services like massage and hair/nails. But the overall theme was connection.
So, going forward I’m going to focus take my next steps on slowing down, renewing friendships, teaching and mentoring, and deepening my spiritual connections to God and the Universe.
What are you going to focus on with spring and our fresh start?
