What's Your Name? - The Power of Names and Impact

In the labyrinth of my high school years at AUGUSCO, a chance encounter with Perry Ackon during Homecoming became a turning point. Perry Ackon, a recent old student, an epitome of talent, shared an uncanny resemblance with me, Perry Adjei. Our similarity sparked curiosity, leading to an unexpected advantage throughout my four years. Oh My!! I enjoyed! ????

As whispers of our resemblance spread during orientation, I discovered that Perry Ackon was not just a look-alike; he was a symbol of discipline, versatility, and talent. Seniors greeted me as if I were his brother, unknowingly paving the way for favours and a smoother high school journey.

Reflecting on this, I pondered the significance of associating with someone's legacy. If Perry Ackon had been a notorious hooligan, would I have comfortably embraced his name and attributes? The answer was clear—good names indeed hold more value than riches. Although, in jest, I might consider trading a good name for $10 million (LOL)????.

Post-graduation, the impact of my alma mater, APSU, and AUGUSCO became evident during job interviews. Mentioning these names often led to warm greetings and even job offers based on the esteemed reputation of being an Apsunian. Just like that! ??

Names, it seemed, had the power to open doors, but it wasn't just about the label. The impact attached to the name carried equal weight. I recalled instances involving Professor Gyampoh of UG, where the alleged misconduct of one Gyampoh resulted in jeers, while the commendable actions of another Gyampoh brought praise.

In the corporate realm, I found myself in the sphere of PY, our Senior Creative Director. Known for meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to quality, PY's impact on our projects was unmistakable. As a result, I earned the moniker "PY Junior." This experience underscored the idea that names and impact are intertwined in the corporate jungle.

In conclusion, while a good salary is undoubtedly appreciated, a good name is better, and lasting impact is the ultimate currency. The journey through the corporate wilderness teaches us that in the realm of names and impact, we wield a power that extends far beyond titles and labels.

Happy navigating the intricate world of nomenclature!
