We are all superheroes. Each one of us has superpowers, which we either know of or are totally oblivious to them. We all have something special that makes us unique. But, all superheroes have bad days. Days when we feel none of our superpowers are working, none of our charms are showing any results. I am sure each one us has experienced those pangs of helplessness. That brings me to the question – What’s your Kryptonite? What’s Kryptonite you ask? Well, Kryptonite is a fictional material that makes it appearance in Superman folklore. It is the material that emits a radiation that weakens Superman’s power. This material also can give superhuman powers to mortals. So, you see, Kryptonite is dichotomic, a double-edged sword of sorts.
Now coming back to our question, do you have a Kryptonite in your life? It could be a person or situation which triggers certain negative emotions and makes you behave in an unnatural way. It’s the sort of encounter that you want to avoid as it sends jitters down your spine. This Kryptonite has the potential to derail your plans and puts you on the path of emotional tosh. It will make you succumb to negative emotions and you will languish in that state for a long time if you are not careful. It is the sort of state where you feel that your energy is being sapped by something and your productivity goes down the dumps. So, what can you do about it? How do you get over it?
Well, for starters, identify this Kryptonite. We get so carried away with this emotional onslaught that we fail to recognize that there is a pattern here. Identifying this will help you to be more mindful of your emotions. It is essential to notice what weakens your powers. Does it
a) bring back unpleasant memories,
b) highlight your insecurities,
c) challenge or core beliefs,
d) hurt your ego,
e) give you an inferiority complex,
f) make you fall into thinking traps,
g) sap your self-confidence,
h) make you question your self-worth,
i) lead you to feel envious or jealous,
j) make you angry
This list might by far from exhaustive. Knowing what happens to you will help you to take necessary action. How can we turn these series of unfortunate events into something that can benefit us? Remember we said that the same Kryptonite has power to transform mere mortals. Try finding the reason behind the negative emotions. There is something lurking in the depths of your consciousness that you are afraid to face or confront. The only way you can stand up to this cerebral bogeyman is by acknowledging and challenging its existence. And this is where you will find the antidote to your kryptonite. You either take steps to deal with your insecurities or learn to live with them. My experience says that finding a way to deal with your Kryptonite makes you accept the reality that you may be unmindful of. This opens new doors to learning and finding ways to improve your thought process. You can then create a plan to counter your Kryptonite and it might help you not fall into the trap of negative emotions. You can
1. Accept the reality and acknowledge the fact that the Kryptonite makes you vulnerable
2. Stop sweeping your fears under the carpet and confront them
3. Hatch a step-by-step plan to counter your Kryptonite
4. Be patient. Things will not improve overnight
5. Record the responses to your Kryptonite overtime and spot the changes
6. Be at peace with your own self
This short guideline might just help you to find the right path to inner peace. Your Kryptonite has the power to pull you down or catapult you into further realms of learning and success. It is up to you, how you want to perceive it.

5 年Good one Rohit, one powerful technique is to instigate an anchor. Anchor could be anything that will divert your attention from negative emotions that you are currently encountering. It works really well.
