What’s Your Impossible?

What’s Your Impossible?

When that great need comes, those feelings of hopelessness develop, and our heart fills with doubt, we pray for a breakthrough. But without any sign of a progress, it’s easy to become disheartened and wonder if our prayer is helping at all. Don’t Stop Praying! We see the storm raging, but when we look to Jesus, the waves are calm. Jesus told us, Mark 11:22-23: “Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be taken up and thrown into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted to him.” God is all knowing and knows our every need, but God also desires we pray and ask in faith. The initiative rests with us. Jesus said,Matthew 7:7-8: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” Prayer is the key that unlocks the gates of heaven and closes the gates of hell. It’s our conversation with God and is the way to release the supernatural power of God in our lives. Nothing is impossible with God. He will defeat the giants in our lives and walk through the fiery furnace with us. Mark 11:24: “Therefore, I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted to you.” The heartbreak of our day is not unanswered prayer, but unoffered prayer. We want, but we do not ask. Moreover, while God values our persistence in praying, He doesn’t answer every prayer. Why? Here are a few reasons: We are not praying from a pure heart, Psalm 66:18: “If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.” and James 4:3:“You ask and do not receive, because you ask with the wrong motives, so that you may spend what you request on your pleasures.” We are not praying in faith, James 1:6:“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” We are not living obediently, 1 John 3:22: “and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do what pleases Him.” Similarly, God may not answer our prayers that are not according to His will. 1 John 5:14: “This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. Of course, we want God to say yes to our every request, but we need God to say yes to our best request, those that are according to His will. The Alpha and Omega knows how our story ends. The Lord makes a way when there's no other way. I've seen it before and I'll see it again.
