What's Your Heart Set-Point? (Plus, 3 Top Tips to Prepare for Vacation)

I’m (Carmen here) manning the Encore Empire ship on my own for an entire week while Deirdre's on vacation, and that could become downright spooky?if we didn’t have some processes in place to allow us to step away without disrupting the flow of our business activities.

Whether you have a team or you’re a solopreneur, you can set your business up to run without you while you take a much-deserved break.?Here are our top three tips to help you prepare for vacation:

1. Pre-Schedule Your Content?- Beginning two months out from your scheduled vacation, we recommend setting up days where you batch-create new content. Better yet, repurpose old content and save yourself a ton of time!
2. Set Expectations?- Two weeks out, notify everyone you typically interact with that you will be unavailable. Use the out-of-office auto-responder for email, and set up any other autoresponders you need. You deserve to be able to unplug completely, and automation is our friend. If you work with a team, make sure you share instructions about tasks they may be taking over for you well ahead of time, so they have time to ask questions.
3. Block Your Calendar?- If you’re like us, you’ve shared your calendar links with many people during the course of business. To ensure nobody schedules with you while you’re away, make sure to block all of your vacation days on your calendar.

By following these three tips, you will be able to unplug completely so you can rest and recharge, which is so important for your health and well-being.
