What's Your Cave Factor?

Picture This:

You’re getting ready to go on vacation.

You’ve been planning it for months and it’s almost here.

Then, out of the blue, a client you’ve been trying to get for ages says "I'm ready to get started!"

What do you do?

• Do you not mention your vacation, sign them up, and end up working through half your vacation?
• Or do you tell them that you're leaving for vacation tomorrow and that you can sign them up today and get started when you get back?

Your Cave-Factor

When you cave in you slowly undermine the foundation of your business and your life. Much like the picture above, the structure of your business and life may appear to be intact, but upon further examination, you realize that the whole thing is slowly sinking.

The difference between having a life and not having one is your Cave-Factor – the number of times a client steps over your boundary (assuming you even bother to set one in the first place) and you let them. If it happens very little, you get to have a life. If it happens a lot, your business becomes your life and you have nothing left for you at the end of the day.

How high is your Cave-Factor?

If you give in more than 5 times out of 10, then your Cave-Factor is WAY too high. Think of it this way, each time you cave, you’re telling the other person AND YOURSELF that their needs are more important than yours.

Improving your Cave Factor is challenging.

It requires that you:

• Step out of the fear of losing the person's business
• Step out of the guilt of leaving someone else's needs unfulfilled
• Step into self-care
• Step into seeing your needs as valid
• Step into knowing your worth
• Step into trusting the Universe to bring you the right clients at the right time
