What's In Your Account?
Yvonne C. Freeman
I'm a Bible Christian. An author, poet and song writer posting poetry from my books inspired by the written word of God
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:” - Matthew 6:19
- Do you save your money for a rainy day?
- Do you hide it under a mattress or do you use direct deposit?
- Do you have a savings or is it a checking account?
- Do you pay yourself first? Do you pay God anything at all?
There are all kinds of Bank accounts all over the world today. Have you made some deposits in God’s Bank of Salvation with good deeds on a daily basis. I made a direct deposit today by giving a helping hand to a neighbor across the way. I spoke kind words to a stranger even shared encouraging words to motivate a teenager. It doesn’t take much to make a deposit. Let your works speak for itself. Just avoid sin and your savings account will build up.
“But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” - Matthew 6:20, 21
Did you make a deposit today or several withdrawals yesterday? When you sinned did you repent and pray? If you didn’t that’s an automatic withdraw of all you saved for that day. Asking God’s forgiveness is a deposit with interest.
What’s in your account today? What is your account balance? Are there insufficient funds due to the sins you committed? Did you close your account because you didn’t seek God’s forgiveness?
Are you overdrawn? Did you open a new account at Satin’s Savings and Loan? That account won’t cost you anything. It’s free as long as you continue to lie, steal and sin. Banking with God isn’t free like most think. You must deposit love, joy and forgiveness on a daily basis to earn interest.
Money is a necessary part of life but it's the love of money, that's when people get in trouble. More, more and more how much more is enough? You can't take it with you when your time is up - buried 6 feet in the ground. You can't bribe God, money can't save you we are all responsible for our salvation. Rich or poor, black or white - from dust we came from dust we shall return until Jesus return to judge the living and the dead.
"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." - Revelation 20:12
