What's wrong while Seeking for a job!

I have come across many applicants who are seeking jobs since a year or two. They either do not get any interview calls or they do not qualify any interview. I am jotting down few reasons that I see, that can help them in their job search:

1.      They are at times (not all) NOT genuinely seeking jobs. They speak to everyone on their way about getting them referred but they are actually not playing their role of #polite and #consistent #followup.

2.      Job seekers are not making optimum use of social media platforms. They do not create solid profiles online and therefore stay left behind. It is important to understand that recruitments are being done online. Profiles are studied on professional forums and people do get hired through these forums.

3.       Job seekers are at times indulged quite much in their search and desperation that they are not paying attention to what might be missing in their profile. What they CAN do during job search is to take up some courses that can enhance their employability. Learn a new skill, language, volunteer at some organization or take one’s own initiative towards betterment of society. At times it is good to be the change one wants to see in society. This way they are utilizing their time during job search.

4.      #JobSeekers should not underestimate the importance of having a well groomed appearance. Please invest in that and keep enhancing your list of #ProfessionalEtiquettes from writing an email to the interviewing process.

5.      Job seekers are taking for granted the importance of CV/Resume. It is important to remember that one’s CV reaches the recruiter before he/she reaches to them. That document should be impressive enough from layout to the content and your achievements that compel the recruiter to interview them. After repetitive advice and tips and much material that is available online, I still receive and see the CVs that have very basic mistakes. Who they are fooling then?
