What's Wrong with These Christians?

GENOCIDES IN CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES

Mass graves of 182 human remains, all children, were found near Cranbrook, British Columbia, about 843 km from Vancouver. ?This follows the discovery of 713 unmarked graves and another of 215 bodies near former Catholic Church-run residential schools that housed Indigenous children taken from their families.?So far, the total added up to 1,110 children bodies and their remains. “It’s a mass murder of Indigenous people”, said Chief Jason Louie of Canada’s Lower Kootenay Band.?

The National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition (NABS) estimated that 6,000 children are thought to have died at Christian schools in Canada, and the number of children who similarly died in the United States (US) was much higher.

WHY THE CHILDREN HAVE TO DIE?

Amazingly, Canadians are well aware of the horrors of the boarding school system.?It is?an open topic in Canada, not even an open secret. This is modern Canadian history.

The horrors had continued until as recent as 1978 with the passing of the Indian Child Welfare Act, wherein Native American parents regained the legal right to deny their children's placement in off-reservation schools.?Survivors of the genocidal atrocities by Christian teachers, administrators, priests, nuns and staff in Christian schools are still alive to bear witness, point out and identify the perpetrators. ?

More than 150,000 Indigenous children were forced to attend state-funded Christian schools from the 19th Century till 1978 in a genocidal effort to assimilate them into Canadian society. ?The 130 residential schools were run by Roman Catholic missionary congregations, the Presbyterian, Anglican and the United Church of Canada, which is the largest Protestant denomination in Canada today. The Roman Catholic Church operated nearly 70% of the schools.

The Canadian government and people knew for a fact that, in these shools, thousands of children died from diseases and other causes, which included widespread physical and sexual abuse, and severe beatings whenever the children speak their native languages.?Many never returned to their families. ?

The same genocides of the Indigenous people occurred in the US too.?All the 367 boarding schools in the US were in fact concentration camps, akin to World War 2’s Hitler’s German Nazi concentration camps, with the same single-minded mission of strategic cultural genocide.

The Atlantic magazine described the shameful American genocide motivated by white supremacy:

“This is what achieving civilization looked like in practice: Students were stripped of all things associated with Native life. Their long hair, a source of pride for many Native peoples, was cut short, usually into identical bowl haircuts. They exchanged traditional clothing for uniforms, and embarked on a life influenced by strict military-style regimentation. Students were physically punished for speaking their Native languages. Contact with family and community members was discouraged or forbidden altogether. Survivors have described a culture of pervasive physical and sexual abuse at the schools. Food and medical attention were often scarce; many students died. Their parents sometimes learned of their death only after they had been buried in school cemeteries, some of which were unmarked.”

The White man’s happiness has apparently been purchased by the Indigenous man’s misery, suffering and deaths of their children.

In an article for The Globe Interior titled The Global Interior: Mineral Frontiers and American Power, Megan Black?wrote?that the Department of the Interior carried out the "spadework" of settler colonialism in America, with the responsible Office of Indian Education Programs falling under the department's broad umbrella.

For years, Native children were required by Congress to attend the “schools” which provided neither education nor schooling because these were not their genocidal objectives.?The Bureau of Indian Affairs was legally empowered by laws to withhold food rations and supplies from families that refused to enroll their children. Physical and sexual abuse was common in the schools; disease was rampant, as was malnutrition, often leading to deaths.

According to the MinnPost newspaper: "The schools also extensively utilized an 'outing' program that retained students for the summer and involuntarily leased them out to White homes as menial laborers".

Are Apologies Enough to Provide Justice and Healing?

In January 2010, US President Obama signed off on the Native American Apology Resolution passed by the US Congress apologizing "on behalf of the people of the United States to all Native peoples for the many instances of violence, maltreatment, and neglect inflicted on Native peoples by citizens of the United States."?It included a Disclaimer: “Nothing in it authorizes or supports any legal claims against the United States, and the resolution does not settle any claims”, thereby rendering his apology profoundly insincere, dishonest and unauthentic.

If only Hitler (Jewish Holocaust) or Pol Pot (Killing Fields) or the Japanese ( “Nanjing Massacre and Chinese genocide” ) or Turkey (Armenian genocide) or any genocidal criminals (Serbia, Pakistan, Spain …) were allowed to just apologise and get away so easily and be forgiven, genocides in the world would certainly cease!?Such deliberate naivety, stupidity and simpleton mindset govern the mindware of Canada and the US with regard to their own genocidal atrocities, even as they proclaimed loudly on the world stage the purported genocides in other countries.

The world should remember that unlike Germany, Japan has never apologised for her wartime atrocities and Chinese genocides in the Pacific War; even after 2 atomic bombs dropped on Japan. Neither did the Japanese Emperor Hirohito and his Generals commit the customary ritual suicide (“hara kiri”), like any honourable Japanese would do, in genuine remorse and regrets as atonement for their inhuman acts against humanity.

In June 2008, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper gave a speech to parliament and tribal leaders, apologizing to survivors of the country's residential boarding school system for the genocidal atrocities against her Indigenous people.

In February 2008, Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd had also apologized in parliament to all aboriginals for laws and policies that "inflicted profound grief, suffering and loss."?When the first White settlers, mostly hardcore convicts, were transplanted on Australia by the British in 1788, there were over 250,000 aborigines.?The colonists systematically killed thousands while many others died from diseases brought by the Europeans. By 1920, after 132 years, there were less than 60,000 aborigines in Australia. ?

Like the Canadian genocide of Indigenous people, the Australian genocide of her aborigines included removing the?children?of?Australian Aboriginal?and Torres Strait Islander descent from their families by the?Australian?federal and state government agencies and church missions.?These children constituted “The Stolen Generations (or Stolen?Children), most of whom died, disappeared and never returned to their parents.?“So sorry”, said the Australian Prime Minister in 2008.

In Canada, the Roman Catholic Church which run most of the schools have not apologized like the other 3 Protestant denominational churches.?Even the Pope had only expressed his “heartfelt closeness” with the Canadian Indigenous people, but has consistently refused to apologize for the Roman Catholic Church’s genocidal atrocities. ?The Roman Catholic Church has since only raised less than C$4 million, or US$3.2 million, of its C$25 million share of the settlement among the Churches with the Indigenous People.

WHAT’S WRONG WITH THESE CHRISTIANS?

From the Canadians to the Americans to Hitler and the Australians, all Christians.?Pol Pot was a Buddhist who had studied in a Christian Primary School, the Turks were Muslims, and the Japanese Emperor Hirohito and his Generals were Shinto Buddhists.?Clearly, evil has no religion.?Those who commit genocides, and similar heinous acts, worship the same “God” of Evil.

The world would remember vividly the sexual abuse scandal prevailing in the Roman Catholic Church from 1950 and earlier.?In the US alone, some 11,000 allegations?were?made against 4,392?priests?in the USA from 1950-2002. ?In August 2018, Pope Francis apologized for the 1,000+ children sexually abused by "predator priests" just in Pennsylvania alone for decades, incidents which were covered up by the Roman Catholic Church.?

So, why not apologise to the Canadian Indigenous People??The Anglican Church, Presbyterian Church and United Church has already apologized, but not the Roman Catholic Church.?

The first step to eventual healing and reconciliation is for the survivors and families of the victims of the Canadian and American genocides to hear the apology from the highest position within the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis the Vicar of Christ on earth. ?Aren’t Christians, including Roman Catholics, where necessary, supposed to apologize, repent and make restitution, so that as Jesus had said: “The truth will set you free” (John 8:32)?

Extremely hard and cold.. well-written...The Goan Inquisition was a similar chapter against the Hindus.. kindly take a look and help us atleast get retribution and an apology, which nevertheless is still insufficient

It was not about Jesus Christ, these people had swayed away from Him because of the inner demon that made them subcumbed to the worldly orders.

In my book they were fake Christians. No person who read any aspect of the teachings of Jesus and said they were saved could commit such atrocities or stay silent about them.
