WHAT'S WRONG BEING A ME-TOO?

WHAT'S WRONG BEING A ME-TOO?

If you’re a marketer, being a “me-too” is not the situation you want to be in unless you have a very strong price advantage. Competing based on price is not a “sin” – in fact, consumers will love you for it, but as a company it places you in a potentially challenging situation since profit margins are at stake just to make yourself competitive.

?For someone looking for a job or trying to advance their career, being a “me-too” may not be such a bad proposition based on what or who you are trying to copy. In fact, the beauty of being a “copy cat” is that there are no rules or boundaries – you can copy someone lock, stock and barrel or you can choose to adopt specific qualities of certain people you admire. Doing this should even turn out to be better assuming? you are able to acquire only the good traits. In fact , by fusing all these? into one makes-up for a new and improved you. Let me share to you some traits of several highly? successful people (well-known and personal) ?whom I have studied closely and continue to strive to emulate in my work and life:

?1.???? Warren Buffet – For understanding that money does not have to complicate our lives if we know how to master it and properly use it

?2.???? Steve Jobs – For making uncommon sense be common, and? for the relentless pursuit of doing things the right way

?3.???? Howard Schulze – For his belief that every business is all about people and. actually ?applying It rather than making it just a nice PR and advertising handle

?4.???? Michael Jordan -? For tremendous self-confidence and an extreme drive for Excellence

?5.?? Larry Bird? -?? For showing that just because you have certain limitations, you are already limited. Through sheer discipline you can achieve and reach the pinnacle of success

?6.?? Gary Valenciano -? For his example that our work and faith go hand-in-hand . We should never compartmentalize work and faith because real success is when we are able to fuse the two into one

?7.?? My son Elian -? For showing me every day that life is meant to be lived to the full and to be thankful for every moment that we have here on earth

8.?? My wife Elaine -? For exemplifying unconditional love. It’s not easy to live with a person like me but she has enjoyed and not endured our? 30 years and there’s more to come.
