What's up this month with Innovating Wisely?

Welcome to the May edition of our Innovation newsletter! We've had an exciting month of April, with plenty of activities and achievements to share with our fellow innovators. Here are some of the highlights from the past month:

Enhancing Innovation in the Regions:

Our team was invited to a roundtable discussion in Toowoomba by the Chief Scientist of Queensland Bronwyn Harch (FTSE, FQA) to explore ways to enhance innovation in the regions. During the discussion, we discussed the need to improve the way academics are measured on progress to reflect real-world applications of their research. This is an important issue that needs to be addressed to ensure that academic research can be translated into real-world benefits.

SportX:

We attended SportX, thanks to Elia Hill (GAICD) , a monthly event that explores innovation in sport in Qld. This time was about how sport contributes to the Queensland economy. One of the key takeaways from the event was the need to build trust in the industry. Trust is essential to create an environment where innovation, collaboration and healthy engagement can thrive. I'll definitely be a regular to the forum.

Short-listed for a Grant:

We were thrilled to be short-listed for a grant! While this is a great achievement, we also recognise that it means more work to complete the application. We're ready for the challenge and excited to explore new opportunities to support innovation in Qld.

Growth Lab Accelerator at QUT:

We recently completed the Growth Lab accelerator at 澳大利亚昆士兰科技大学 . It was a fantastic opportunity to learn from our amazing mentors ( Ale Wiecek , Gemma White ) and develop new skills. We are sad to leave, but grateful for the opportunity. Thanks to our advisors, our new motto is:

"Transforming Organisations: Unlocking innovation potential by connecting innovation with knowledge, trust and energy"

Accepted Academic Journal Article:

We had our first academic, peer-reviewed article accepted into the Journal of the Knowledge Economy! We're grateful to Assoc Prof Dr Anna Wiewiora ?? for her contribution, guidance and support.

Thank you for reading the Innovate Wisely newsletter! We hope these updates have been informative and inspiring. We're looking forward to another exciting month of innovation ahead. Stay tuned for more updates and news!
