Saipa unveils the first photos of the P90, the successor of the Renault L90 ( Tondar 90) !
The Iranian carmaker shared on Instagram the first photos of the P90. This future sedan vehicle will be produced on the B0 platform, developed by Renault-Nissan. The platform was part of an agreement concluded between the Iranian and French carmakers, before the Trump administration imposed new sanctions that brought an end to partnerships between European and Iranian automakers.
Nonetheless, Saipa relied on its local industrial capabilities and know-how to localise Renault vehicles, to offer its own upgraded version of the L90 and guarantee the quality of the P90 (sic). Far from being a simple face-lift, the Saipa P90 improved the design and the interior of the L90. It has outstanding differences with its foreign and old predecessor (sic).
Compared to the Renault L90:
- The Saipa P90 offers much more advanced and modern safety and comfort equipment.
- The design of the front of the car has been modified to integrate the new Saipa lines. Headlight bowls were replaced by more modern structures. Other elements such as the car hood, the bumper and the fender were also modernised thanks to the B0 platform.
- As they do for other new vehicles, the designers from Saipa Development Center tried to make the vehicle compliant to international standards including ECE and protection standards. They worked on elements such as a curved hood to make sure that the P90 is more modern than the L90.
- Regarding the back of the P90, it can be said that the simplicity of the economic car designed by Renault can no longer be seen (sic). Part of the rear light bowls was redesigned. The P90 offers sharp and athletic lines without any of the boring lines of the L90.
Several versions of the P90 will be launched soon.
