My beautiful, smart 95-year-old friend, Gladys, bowls three times a week. Leagues want her on their teams. Gladys is always upbeat and given her life experience, could have every reason to crawl in a corner, but she doesn’t. She is an inspiration and still enjoys and attends the NJ Devils games where she is treated as the celebrity that she is.?
Gladys got me thinking about the power of the word "up." Words have meaning, and how we use them, speak them, and read them is all interpreted individually. One word that moves us forward, encourages positive thinking, and presents possibilities of what could be is "up." Being "up" is being aware and being in the moment, and awareness is the cornerstone of well-being.
?
And so, I had some fun.? Are you “up”? to sharing this sampling of words with me?
We:?
Wake up, reach up, sit up, get up, lather up, wash up, zip up, button up, freshen up, dress up, lace up, drink up, cut up, eat up, clean up, lock up, rev up, buckle up, warm up, fasten up, look up, drive up, speed up, show up, walk up, open up, sit up, straighten up, boot up, catch up, read up, listen up, write up, take up, tighten up, face up, stir up, speak up, work up, shake up, cover up, beat up, move up, makeup, butter up, cheer up, end up, tie up, touch up, wind up, pack up, close up, run up, toss-up, tee up (for some), cuddle up, curl up, give up, rest up – and repeat.?
Keep whatever “it” is – UP, and have a productive day.???
