Colleagues and friends, we are just a few days into UC Davis' new academic year, and there is already much to celebrate and share with you from our College of Engineering.
This month, we announced our new M.Eng. in Medical Device Development, which combines hands-on training with entrepreneurial expertise and aims to fast-track careers in industry. We have more good news from our M.S. programs, which are experiencing year-over-year growth among new students enrolling this fall.
Our faculty is growing, too. Ten new faculty, including five in the Department of Computer Science, have joined us this fall. These early career faculty bring new energy to our research and teaching enterprise with expertise in energy efficiency in software, water treatment technologies, biophotonics and more.
We are also recognizing the close of UC Davis' historic Expect Greater fundraising campaign, with our college raising $131.55 million of the more than $2.25 billion total. I am extremely grateful to the more than 5,500 donors who contributed to the college. Their investments are transformative in achieving the research, education and community goals of our Next Level strategic vision.
