META AND AMAZON COLLABORATE ON IN-APP SHOPPING EXPERIENCE
Meta and Amazon team up to enhance in-app shopping on Facebook and Instagram, enabling users to seamlessly link their accounts and access features like browsing, checking out, and utilising saved Amazon payment and shipping information directly within the apps
The partnership's advantages include improved targeting and optimisation for Meta, leveraging data from Amazon and Prime-enabled stores to display more effective ads. This is anticipated to enhance conversion rates, facilitating quicker checkouts for customers. Furthermore, Meta gains the ability to customise ad messaging and product pages based on the user's Prime membership status, allowing adjustments to real-time pricing and shipping estimates as required.
This collaboration coincides with TikTok's move into e-commerce with TikTok Shop, posing competition to Amazon. TikTok's broad user reach, especially among younger demographics, could be considered a credible threat to Amazon's dominance in the e-commerce space.

LINKEDIN ANNOUNCES REMOVAL OF PREVIOUS CAROUSEL POSTS
LinkedIn is bidding farewell to carousel posts, profile videos, and in-image linking options. This change will take effect from 14 December 2023, so keep in mind that any content you previously posted will disappear from your profile.
LinkedIn decided to make these changes due to underuse, hopefully making space for exciting new features down the road.
If like us, you love a good carousel, you can still share your multi-slide masterpieces by going old-school with the upload-PDF trick.

THE LATEST INNOVATIONS UNVEILED IN THREADS
Threads introduces new features, including the ability to delete your Threads profile without affecting your Instagram presence, a toggle to opt out of displaying your posts on Facebook and Instagram, and the ongoing development of hashtag support informed by new back-end insights.
Option to delete your Threads profile: You can now delete your Threads profile without affecting your Instagram profile. While Threads is becoming more independent, direct messages remain linked between Threads, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp, with no immediate plans for separate DMs.
New toggle to opt out: Meta is introducing an opt-out toggle in Threads, allowing users to prevent their posts from appearing in Facebook and Instagram highlights. This update offers more privacy control for users who want to keep Threads content separate.
Hashtag support: Based on new back-end insights it appears that Threads is considering adding hashtags for trending conversations. However, concerns about misuse and unwanted attention are being addressed, as the platform navigates potential challenges in handling trending topics and news content. The app aims for balanced growth and user engagement while considering its impact on discussions and user experience.
