In this week’s “What’s in Tech” newsletter, we have covered the latest developments in the AI space. Highlights include a slew of launches by Oracle – from AI supercomputer to genAI agents, the launch of Apple Intelligence and new foundational models by startups like Mistral, Hume.ai and Sarvam AI. Other major news includes AI feature launches by ServiceNow, Salesforce, and Zoho.
Codenamed Strawberry, the o1 series of ‘reasoning’ foundational models that can reportedly answer more complex reasoning questions faster than humans. They are trained using a completely new optimization algorithm and a specifically tailored new training dataset.
Apple has announced its AI suite with increased privacy features such as on-device processing, private cloud compute, and availability of source-code to independent experts for review.
The Oracle Database @ AWS will provide customers with a unified experience between Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and AWS, offering simplified database administration, billing, and unified customer support.
The updates include AI features to improve efficiency, risk management and goal achievement, a digital assistant in SuiteAnalytics, and enhanced GenAI capabilities for content generation and integration.
The Supercluster is the world’s first zettascale supercomputer and delivers maximum scale of more than three times as many GPUs as the Frontier supercomputer and more than six times that of other hyperscalers.
The agents will execute frequent, repetitive tasks and allow employees and managers to focus their time on more strategic tasks and initiatives, enabling higher of productivity across finance, supply chain, HR, sales, marketing, and services.
