Centific’s Wrap Up of the CVPR 2024 Conference

Centific attended the IEEE / CVF Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Conference 2024 (CVPR 2024) in Seattle. Here is the key takeaway from the event – “The need for high-quality training data is more critical than ever, especially for robotics companies scaling in production. As they grow, the demand for Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) and precise labeling will increase.”

Sanjay Bhakta and Kennedy Meda CFE were invited by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Houston chapter to conduct a training seminar on “Reimagining Safety in the Age of GenAI”.

Snorkel AI Signs Multi-Year Strategic Collaboration Agreement with AWS

The companies will launch a “Custom Model Accelerator Program” where Snorkel AI will lead LLM development and delivery for Amazon’s customers building in SageMaker, Bedrock and other platforms.

Meta Plans to Bring Generative AI to Metaverse Games

According to a job listing, Meta is seeking to research and prototype new types of gameplay driven by Generative AI, like games that “change every time you play them” and follow “non-deterministic” paths.

Oracle Launched In-Database LLM Heatwave GenAI

The tool allows the use of GenAI directly within Oracle’s databases, reducing external AI expertise and data migration costs. It is said to significantly outperform Snowflake, Google BigQuery and Databricks.

The New Jersey based communications automation player caters to Fortune 500 companies, and has partnerships with AWS, Verizon, Genesys, etc.

Earlier this year, Figure had signed an agreement with BMW to deploy its robots in automotive manufacturing environments. The robots’ speech models are powered by ChatGPT.

French Research Labs Releases Real-Time Open-Source Multimodal Foundational Model

Kyutai has released Moshi, built on Helium 7B model which can understand and express 70 emotions and styles, speak with various accents and handle two audio streams simultaneously.

Mistral AI Partners with Dassault Systèmes to Launch LLM-as-a-Service

The LLMaaS will leverage the Dassault’s Outscale sovereign infrastructure, providing Mistral AI’s LLMs the highest security and compliance standards, including SecNumCloud.

Oracle Debuts GenAI Tool To Cut Doctor’s Screen Time By 50%

The company says the Oracle Clinical Digital Assistant tool powered by GenAI will automatically transcribe patient conversations and input them into electronic health records.

HCLTech and IBM Collaborate to Setup a GenAI CoE

As part of the collaboration, HCLTech aims to train 10,000 employees on IBM’s WatsonX AI and Data Platform. The CoE will be available through HCLTech’s AI Labs in Noida, India; London, the UK; and Santa Clara, the US.

IBM Consulting and Microsoft Strengthen Cybersecurity Collaboration

The collaboration aims to modernize end-to-end security operations to deal with the rapidly advancing cybersecurity landscape, manage and secure cloud identities and co-invest in upskilling employees.

Anthropic launches Fund to Measure Capabilities of AI Models

The company aims to fund third-party organizations to develop new model evaluations that can effectively measure advanced AI capabilities. The initiative will prioritize three main areas: AI safety level assessments, advanced capability and safety metrics, and infrastructure for developing evaluations.?

IBM, Microsoft, NASSCOM ink MoUs with Gujarat’s Govt to Strengthen DeepTech Initiative Program

The initiative aims to establish multiple AI CoEs focused on sector specific AI use case development, secure data exchange, infrastructure setup, AI model training, and pilot projects.

China Leads in Generative AI Patent Applications followed by the US

China has requested far more patents than any other country when it comes to Generative AI, the U.N. intellectual property agency stated, with the United States a distant second.
