Baltic X$ Kayaking Buoyancy Aid

What’s in store from Baltic this season

Chandleries here in Sweden, across Europe, the UK, Australasia and into the USA ready are filling their shelves with new stock from Baltic. Whilst we are excited for our new products to be getting a step closer to you, before you rush out to buy the latest colour or design first, we want you to stop.

Do you need to buy a new lifejacket or buoyancy aid?

A lifejacket is an investment it’s a purchase that takes your time and your money, but with the adequate research and the right selection, it’s one that could save your life. So, before you head to your local chandlery, at Baltic we first want to check the condition of your current lifejacket or buoyancy aid and ask yourself the following questions.

Looking at my buoyancy aid…

  • Are the buckles and zips in full working order?
  • Is there any visible damage to the outer material that has penetrated through and pierced the foam?

?Looking at my lifejacket…

  • Is there any visible damage to the outer cover?
  • Open the jacket up and check the lung is all undamaged.
  • Check the canister is in date?
  • Check there are two green ticks in your window!

?For both a lifejacket and buoyancy aid…

  • Does it still fit correctly, sitting comfortably on my shoulders and secure so that it won’t ride up should I end up the in the water?

Canisters and EN/ISO approved buckles can be replaced, and you should speak with Baltic to do this.

However, if your lifejacket/buoyancy aid is no longer comfortable or it doesn’t fit correctly it’s time to replace it. Damage to the lung or the foam is harder to replace and at Baltic, we are looking for opportunities to put these into a circular economy, however, this is still at the research and development stage. Now it’s time to look to replace your lifejacket or buoyancy aid.

Let’s go shopping. New colours for 2023 are now in stock!
